The CINCINNATI CL-707 Laser System incorporates the latest in high speed
linear motor drive, motion control systems, electronics, beam delivery, fiber
optics communications and software technology to greatly enhance machine
productivity, performance and accuracy.
The CL-707 Linear Motor Laser went into production in 1996 and has proven to
be a global benchmark in drive technology. This laser system uses two linear
motors in the x-axis and one linear motor in the y-axis. The first linear
motors were accurate, fast and reliable. The current generation linear motor
is faster and even better than the original.
Linear Motor Drive System
Improved encoders for the linear motor drives have a resolution of 0.000006"
making the CL-707 one of the most accurate laser cutting systems ever made.
Direct position feedback without the mechanical flexibility of conventional
laser drives allow the servo system to operate at very high speeds while
maintaining high accuracy. The open style is easy to clean and maintain.
Proven RF Resonator
The proven fast axial resonator uses advanced turbine blower technology for
reliability and low laser gas consumption.
The RF power supply is compact and dependable, especially when compared to
vacuum tube designs.
Helical RF antennae excite the laser gas effectively; therefore, the resonator
can produce more power with fewer internal optics. Fewer optics means lower
operating and maintenance costs as well as higher reliability.
Electronic Shutter and Enhanced Pulsing
The CL-707 4000 Watt features electronic shutter with trigger-discharge
electrodes. This improves the pulsing characteristics of the RF resonator. The
sharper pulses produce smoother cut edges and reduce the heat-affected zone
bordering the cut. Fine cutting techniques using 5000 Watt enhanced pulsing
allow intricate features to be accurately cut.
